PalmRD

PalmRD support

Updated 13 October 2026.

Third-party sign-in testing: Apple/Google sign-in is not enabled in the production service. The third-party sign-in provisions below apply only to tests where this feature is actually authorized and enabled. Provider configuration or installing an update does not make sign-in available. Participation is optional; existing email sign-in rules remain unchanged.

The mobile and Mac apps are named PalmRD. This page supports the current test versions. Account services and contact email addresses continue to use palmrd.com.

Use PalmRD to view and control an authorized Mac from your phone or tablet. Use the test package provided to you during testing.

Contact

Include the OS and PalmRD versions on both devices, the time, the steps and the visible error. Do not send full diagnostic logs unsolicited. Redact email addresses, QR codes, credentials and private desktop content from screenshots.

The Google authorization screen uses palmrd-support@googlegroups.com for authorization-related support, with messages handled by Google Groups. Website product support and privacy contacts remain as listed above. Never send passwords, codes or tokens to any of these addresses.

First connection

  1. Open PalmRD on your Mac. Grant Screen Recording and Accessibility permissions as needed and keep the Mac running and reachable. The Mac host does not require a PalmRD account sign-in.
  2. Sign in on your phone or tablet and scan the connection QR code from the Mac console.
  3. Review the device request on the Mac. Approve only after the comparison codes match on both devices, then select the Mac in the mobile computer list. Reject unknown requests.
  4. If the Mac requires password verification for new devices, also enter its separate remote-access password. This is different from your PalmRD account password and Mac login password.

Troubleshooting

Account deletion

Open Account & Security → Delete account, verify your password for an email/password account, or reauthenticate with an already linked provider for a passwordless account in an authorized test, then explicitly confirm. If the app is uninstalled, follow the public deletion instructions to the browser-based option, which requires an available contact email. Third-party accounts without one use in-app deletion or contact the privacy mailbox. Your original Mac need not be online. Deletion does not delete Mac files or immediately erase every historical backup. Contact the privacy mailbox if you cannot use these options.

Diagnostics and safe contact

Basic fault categories and app versions are reported automatically; performance diagnostics are optional. Reporting does not open an individual support ticket. Email a description if you need a reply. The current diagnostic channel excludes raw logs, stack traces and screen content; account-service processing is described separately in the privacy notice.

Never email account passwords, Mac login passwords, remote-access passwords, verification codes or connection keys. A displayed sender address alone does not prove account ownership or authorize deletion.
